CREATing a
“WOW” FACTOR

Light plays a vital role in our daily lives and is an imperative cross-cutting discipline of science in the 21st century. It has revolutionized medicine, opened up international communication via the Internet, and continues to be central to linking cultural, economic and political aspects of the global society.

This whole world looks beautiful due to colors But in darkness, we see no colors. This is because all the colors in this world are possible only due to light. The light has many spectra.

OBJECTIVE

Light is one of the most important aspects of our lives that is so subtle we take it for granted. However, without, life itself would be simply impossible. The owner of Spectrum Systems trusted me to visualize his business’ new digital home so that potential customers would receive an instant ‘wow’ factor when they arrived on the website. He wanted graphic design elements that would captivate visitors, encouraging them to interact and get a feel for how their own homes could be transformed by simply adding some more light into it.

Custom electricals is a difficult thing; it’s almost impossible to avoid wireframes and complex language, but it was important to me that I focused on the feeling and emotions that would go on to create the ‘WOW factor’ for potential clients. To do this, we had to go all of the completed services and projects from the last fifteen years to select the most impressive showcases, combine them, and then show the best of the best on the website itself.

CHALLENGES

The main challenge I faced was that the client’s business had grown through providing the highest quality work and exceptional customer experience, which had set them well on their way to becoming a multimillion dollar business. We had to start from scratch as there were no visual materials to work with and had to stretch our knowledge of 3D rendering software such as 3DS Max and Maya to recreate spaces.

My team was able to build a completely modern house from scratch, with an interior, large yard with a pool and installed lighting systems both indoors and outdoors. Intuitive interactions are triggered by simple gestures, such as hovering, swiping and scrolling, as you make your way through the website. Despite the complex technology involved, it has a subtle influence on the website, which keeps visitors captivated and drastically increases the time they spend on the website.
